The cellar masters and their teams taste the vins clairs from the previous harvest, tank by tank and barrel by barrel. This is skilled work that requires a memory of every wine with an eye to the eventual blend.

Did you know?

The French terms “Blanc de Blancs” (white from whites) and "Blanc de Noirs" (white from blacks) indicate the cultivars that make up the blend. A Blanc de Blancs is exclusively blended from the principal white grape, the Chardonnay. A Blanc de Noirs is exclusively blended from the two principal black grapes, the Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.

Duval-Leroy

The House of Duval-Leroy was born in 1859 when a merchant called Armand-Edouard Leroy joined forces with a winegrower called Jules Duval. It became a family business when Duval’s son married Leroy’s daughter. Their descendants Carol Duval-Leroy and her three sons now steer the House’s fortunes.
