Established in 1989, the Association Amicale des Responsables de Vignobles de Champagne (friendly society of directors of Champagne vineyards, or ARVC) brings together the directors of the principal Champagne House vineyards and the engineers and technicians of the Comité Champagne.
The objective of the association is to encourage dialogue among all parties, focusing on the area of new technologies but encompassing vineyard methods in general, aiming to promote sustainable and eco-friendly vineyard practices that improve harvest quality and with it, the quality of Champagne wine itself.
The ARVC plays an active role in all of the technical issues facing Champagne Growers and Houses - for instance the drafting of the reference framework for sustainable viticulture.
